How to get here
Rosendal is 3 ½ hours south-west of Johannesburg, halfway (40km in either direction) between Ficksburg and Senekal.

From Johannesburg
N1 south, exit at Ventersburg on the R70 to Senekal. At Senekal, follow the detour through town, following a 20km gravel road to link up with the R70 road 15km north of Rosendal. The distance from Johannesburg is 333km. Alternatively (395km), take the N3 south from Johannesburg toward Durban. Exit at Villiers and continue on the R26 past Bethlehem and Fouriesburg and turn north at the R70 before Ficksburg. The newly rehabilitated R70 is in perfect condition between Rosendal and Ficksburg. Between Senekal and Rosendal road works are still in progress. And we are lobbying hard for them to be finished soon.

From Durban
N3 north, exit at Harrismith on to the N5, traveling west past Bethlehem. Shortly after Paul Roux, exit south on to the gravel road. After 2km turn left toward Rosendal this rugged and very scenic mountain road is easily passable with a high clearance vehicle. If in doubt, continue straight for 18km on the “Heelbo” gravel road, and turn left on the R70 toward Rosendal.

By air
Bloemfontein airport is 2 ½ hours from Rosendal, Johannesburg airport is 3 ½ hours. There is a private aviation airport near Ficksburg, 40km from Rosendal, that can accommodate light aircraft and private jets.
